Description

Nos 34 and 36 on High Street in Puddletown are a pair of estate cottages built in 1870, as indicated by a date plaque in the center. The cottages feature rock-faced ashlar walls and a slate roof, with a central rock-faced ashlar chimney stack. They are two storeys high and have single-storey porches at each end that project beyond the main building. The cottages are adorned with deep moulded bargeboards and ledged doors set in shouldered arched openings. On the ground floor, each cottage has a two-light stone mullioned window beneath a stone lintel and relieving arch, along with a similar single-light window that lacks a relieving arch. On the first floor, each cottage has a matching two-light window. These cottages are included for their group value.
