Description

A terrace of six estate cottages was built in 1869. The cottages are constructed of brick with ashlar stone dressings and a splayed plinth, topped with slate roofs. Brick stacks with ashlar quoins are evenly spaced along the ridge. Each cottage is two storeys high. Each has a ledged entrance door with a fanlight, stone jambs, a lintel with projecting keystone. The ground floor windows are stone mullioned, with three lights, and have cast iron glazing. The first floor windows are a mix of two-light and single-light stone mullioned windows with matching cast iron glazing. Single-storey extensions, built in matching materials, adjoin the ends of the terrace. The terrace represents a good, unaltered example of Victorian estate cottages.
