Description

No. 5 High Street is a house attached to the Post Office on the right, dating from the early 18th century. It features colourwashed brick walls, a slate roof, and brick stacks. The building has two storeys and a cellar, with a plat band at the first floor and a dentil cornice at the eaves. The ground floor includes a six-panel door beneath a flat hood supported by shaped brackets, flanked by two sash windows with glazing bars and wide architraves, all set under gauged arches with projecting keystones. On the first floor, there are two similar sash windows and a central blind window. At the right end, there is a lean-to extension with a lower wall made of rubble stone, which contains one sash window with glazing bars.
