Description

The gatepiers and wall are located between the east end of the building on the south side of Tannery Yard and the rear of No 20 South Street. They date from the mid-19th century and consist of a red brick dwarf wall topped with stone coping and featuring elaborate cast iron railings. The gatepiers are made of ashlar and have pyramidal caps along with spur stones. This structure is part of a group that includes Nos 16 to 26 even and all the Tannery buildings.
