Description
Batson's Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse featuring dressed stone walls with Ham stone dressings. It has a double Roman-tile roof with stone gable copings and brick stacks at the gable ends. The building is two storeys high and has four windows, which are three-light ovolo-moulded stone mullions. There is a continuous string course above the ground floor windows, and the windows have wood casements with horizontal glazing bars. The front door is centrally located, made of planks and muntins, with a 20th-century fanlight above it. Inside, the farmhouse retains original moulded ceiling beams with ornamental stops, although access to the interior was not obtained. There is an outbuilding attached to the left-hand end, which has a 19th-century Roman-tile roof and a 20th-century window. The rear range of the farmhouse dates from the 18th century and features a rear gable stack.
