Description
The properties at 21-31 East Street form a range of early 19th-century buildings. Constructed of brick, some of which has been colour-washed, they have slate roofs. The buildings are arranged over three storeys and feature sash windows with glazing bars. Number 21 may have originally been the Golden Lion Inn, suggesting it is slightly older than the rest of the range, and includes a gutter ornamented with lions' heads. Numbers 23 and 25 have a moulded stone eaves cornice. Numbers 29 and 31 contain 19th-century shopfronts, with number 31 also featuring a panelled door and a semi-circular fanlight above. The properties at 21-33 East Street are considered a group.
