Description

Wayside is a detached cottage built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features roughcast cob walls resting on a brick base, with a thatched roof that is hipped at the west end and a brick stack at the east end. The cottage has a two-room plan and consists of one storey with an attic. There is a timber lean-to at the west end and the entrance is located at the rear. On the ground floor, there are two horizontally sliding sash windows and one casement window in what was formerly a doorway. The attic includes two and a half dormers, all fitted with glazing bars. Inside, the main room on the ground floor has a large open fireplace, which has been partially built up.
