Description

Trafalgar House and the adjoining shop are located on Malpas Road in Truro and date from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of painted Killas stone with brick arches and features a hipped asbestos slate roof with wide eaves supported by wooden brackets. The house has a double-depth plan with the shop situated at right angles behind the right-hand side.

It is two storeys tall and has a symmetrical front with three bays and two windows. There is a blind window above the central round-arched doorway, which contains a six-panel door with fielded panels and a spoked fanlight. Keyed flat arches are present over the original twelve-pane hornless sash windows. The shop front, which faces Malpas Road, has two windows and retains original twelve-pane hornless sashes. It features a late 19th-century shop front with a doorway on the left, terminal pilasters with consoles, and a moulded cornice above the fascia. The interiors have not been inspected.
