Description
The quay walls and railings are from the early 18th century, with some later additions. They are made of killas stone, with granite copings and iron railings. The two main sections of the quay wall are arranged in a V formation along the courses of the two rivers that the quay stands between. At the southern end, where the sections meet, the wall is rounded, partly rendered, and features 18th-century copings with iron cramps. On the River Allen side, there are sections of wall built with vertically-set killas, which are the oldest parts of the structure. Other sections are made of roughly-coursed killas. The walls are topped with granite copings and have railings that date from the 20th century.
