Description

The granary, built around the 1860s, is located 5 meters north of Trehawk farmhouse. It features a timber frame with timber boarding and a pyramidal slate roof, raised on granite staddle stones. The structure is square in plan and supported by three rows of three square-headed staddle stones. The south front has lapped vertical timber boarding with a plank door in the center, and there is a later metal ladder for access. Rectangular louvred openings are present in the side walls and at the rear. The roof has deep overhanging eaves and a timber finial at the apex topped by a ball finial. Vertical slots can be seen in the timber uprights, and planked timber boards are still intact. The roof structure includes two king post trusses that extend from the corners and meet at right angles in the center.
