Description
Coldrenick House, originally built as stables, dates from the early 18th century and has undergone 20th-century alterations. It is constructed from coursed squared greenstone rubble with granite quoins and features a hipped slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan with a central entrance, and the internal layout was modified during its conversion from stables to a house.
The exterior is two storeys high, resting on a plinth, and is symmetrical with seven bays. It includes granite quoins, a first-floor band course, and a moulded eaves cornice. The ground floor features central 20th-century double doors with a fanlight, set within a re-used 17th-century granite doorframe that has a four-centred arch, recessed spandrels with roundels, and a segmental arch above. Flanking the entrance are three 20th-century 12-pane sash windows with segmental heads. The first floor has a central pair of six-pane sashes, with additional six-pane sashes to the right and left, each having flat stone heads. Notably, there are fine early 18th-century rainwater heads on either side of the central bay, which were re-used from the former Coldrenick House and are dated 1724.
On the left side, there is a single-storey 20th-century flat-roofed addition and a 20th-century window at the first floor. The right side features a ground floor 20th-century glazed door with a stone segmental arch and two 20th-century windows at the first floor. The rear of the building has 20th-century doors and windows, along with a flat-roofed dormer. The interior has not been inspected.
