Town house with shop. 1853 inscription to 1st-floor pediments. Stucco on masonry; dry Delabole roof with enriched modillion eaves cornice; brick stack on right; cast-iron ogee gutter. Deep plan. Classical style. 3 storeys; 2-window range. Original hornless sashes and early C20 shop front; rusticated quoins to upper floors; 2nd floor with paired 4-pane sashes within architraves over stepped sills with brackets linked to stepped string; 1st floor has 12-pane segmentally-headed sashes between pilasters with consoles to open pediments with dated cartouches; moulded sills on brackets linked to sill string. Ground floor has rusticated granite ashlar piers flanking shop front and house doorway, on the right; granite ashlar stall riser to double 4-light transomed shop front with wide splayed central doorway with sidelights; pair of panelled glazed door and square overlight; slender moulded mullions with triangular heads; 4-panel top-glazed house door with 2-pane overlight; plain full-width fascia. INTERIOR of shop has original shelves and moulded cornice enriched with egg-and-dart. A remarkably complete example of a mid C19 town house with its original shop.
