Description
No. 9 Pike Street is a town house, likely built in the 18th century and remodeled in the mid-19th century and later. It features a rendered exterior on studwork and has a steep dry Delabole slate roof with two slate-hung gabled roof dormers, which contain mid-19th century 12-pane hornless sash windows. The house has brick end stacks and a double-depth plan. It is two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window range that includes late 19th century four-pane sashes set within moulded wooden architraves on plinths over sills with brackets. The ground floor features a 1920s shop front with a 1:4-light transom and a splayed doorway on the left, flanked by sidelights and a glazed door, with a canted sidelight at the far right, all showcasing patterned leaded glazing in the top lights. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
