3/43 Lowena Cottage - GV II

Farmhouse. Circa early C19. Shale rubble walls with dressed granite quoins, jambstones and lintels, slate sills. Hipped scantle slate roof with brick chimneys over side walls. Plan of 2 rooms originally with cross central passage leading to stair, (now 1 room) plus back kitchen in later outshut behind right-hand room. 2 storeys. Symmetical 3-window south-west front with central doorway and ledged C20 door. C20 12-pane 2-light casements to original window openings. Interior not inspected. One of a group of 4 farmhouses comprising this small hamlet, set in unspoiled coastal surroundings.
