West Cottage And Adjoining House

West Cottage and the adjoining house form a terrace that includes a house, a workshop with accommodation above, and a pair of cottages. They were built around the 1860s and are constructed of rubble with granite dressing on the workshop, while the rest is finished in stucco. The roof is hipped with scantle slate and features projecting eaves at the front. There are brick chimneys at both ends and over the cross or party walls.

The layout consists of a single depth with two service wings at right angles to the rear. The house on the right has two rooms and a central entrance hall, the workshop in the middle likely contains one large room, and the pair of cottages on the left have entrance lobbies in the center with a front room on either side.

The exterior stands two storeys high and features a total of nine windows on the north-east front, arranged in three symmetrical three-window sections with central doorways. West Cottage, on the right, remains unaltered at the front, showcasing a plinth, debased Tuscan pilasters flanking the front, stucco keystones above the windows, a stucco doorcase, and a mid-floor band. It has a panelled door with an overlight and six-pane hornless sash windows. The other two fronts have later horned sash windows. The interiors have not been inspected.
