MARAZION WEST END, Marazion SW 5130 4/89 West Cottage and adjoining house

GV II

Terrace of: house; workshop with accommodation over and pair of cottages. Circa 1860s. Rubble with granite dressing to workshop, otherwise stucco. Hipped scantle slate roof with projecting eaves at the front. Brick chimneys at either end and over the cross/party walls. Plan : single depth plus 2 service wings at right angles to rear. 2 rooms wide house, right, with central entrance hall, workshop, middle, probably 1 large room, and pair of cottages, left, with entrance lobbies in the middle and a front room at either side. Exterior : 2 storeys. Overall 9 window north-east front comprising 3 symmetrical 3- window fronts with central doorways. West Cottage, right, is unaltered at the front: plinth; debased Tuscan pilasters flanking the front; stucco keystones over windows; stucco doorcase and mid-floor band. Panelled door with overlight and 6-pane hornless sashes. The other 2 fronts have later horned sashes. Interiors not inspected.
