Description
The gate piers and flanking walls at the entrance to The Manor Office in Marazion date from the late 19th century. They are constructed from rock-faced granite, with dressed granite used for the copings and gate piers. The design features cyma-on-plan walls that flank a central entrance, along with rebated square-on-plan gate piers. A smaller gateway is located on the left side. The walls are ramped to accommodate the slope of the land. The gate piers are designed in a debased classical style, featuring chamfered plinths, moulded square column bases, short fluted column shafts, string cornices, and caps adorned with flutes and egg and dart cornices, all topped with ball on leaf finials.
