Description

This tombchest, dated 1747, is located 1 metre to the south of the southeast end of the church in Menheniot. It commemorates John Hay of Trenant and his wife Elizabeth. The tombchest is made of ashlar stone and features a well-engraved slate set into the lid. On the north side, there is a marble panel dedicated to John Hony AM, formerly of Exeter College, Oxford, who passed away in 1767 and is buried nearby.
