Description

This is a bank barn located about 25 metres south west of Tredown Farmhouse, likely built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with a later 19th-century extension. The barn is constructed from slate rubble with granite quoins and features a grouted rag slate hipped roof. It has a rectangular plan and stands two storeys tall. There is a ground floor doorway to the right of the centre and a central first floor loading doorway, both equipped with plank doors and flanked by ventilation slits. A small window is located on the ground floor to the left of the centre. Adjoining to the left is a small single-storey outbuilding with a gable-ended slate roof and a plank door at the front. The ground level is higher at the rear, where there is an additional doorway into the barn. Inside, there are large roughly hewn cross-beams, although the first floor and roof structure have not been inspected.
