Description
This building is a school, now used as offices, dating from the late 19th century and likely designed by Silvanus Trevail. It is constructed of squared granite rubble with granite dressings and features a slate roof adorned with crested ridge tiles and gable ends.
The main structure contains the school hall, with an entrance on the left side and shallow wings at the front left and right. The left wing houses a schoolmaster's residence. The building is in the Gothic style and is single storey, except for the two-storey schoolmaster's house on the left, which sits on a chamfered plinth and has a 1:3:1:3:1 bay arrangement. The end bays on both sides are shallow gabled wings. The central bay is gabled and features buttressed paired lancets with transoms and a hood mould, along with a recessed quatrefoil above.
To the right, there are three plate-glass sash windows with shouldered arches, and to the left, there are two similar sash windows and a shouldered arched doorway leading to the house. The two-storey wing on the right has a triple lancet window, with the central light taller, along with a transom and hood mould, and a breather above in the gable. The left wing has paired plate-glass sashes with shouldered arches on the ground floor and paired plate-glass sashes with 2-centred arches and relieving arches on the first floor, also with a breather above.
The left side of the house wing projects outward and features a gable end, similar paired sashes on both floors, and a breather above. There is a two-storey porch set at the angle of the main range, which is open at the ground floor and has a shouldered arched doorway with a door and overlight. Above, there are paired plate-glass sashes, and the porch is slate-hung at the first floor with a hipped roof. In the main range to the right, there are paired sashes on both floors, and at the right side, there is a 20th-century door with a bellcote above, along with a shouldered arched doorway in the right wing. The interior has not been inspected.
