Description

The gate piers and entrance walls located to the north-west of Tranquility date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from elvan ashlar with granite copings. The gate piers are square in plan and topped with pyramidal caps. The wide gateway is flanked by cyma-on-plan walls that have end piers. The right-hand wall was rebuilt with rubble in the 20th century. This structure is included for its group value.
