Description
The gate piers on Old Linburn Road in Dunfermline date from the early 19th century. They are a pair of square-plan gate piers located towards the center of a low semicircular wall, which has narrower square-plan outer flanking piers. The piers are made of sandstone ashlar, while the wall is constructed from coursed droved sandstone with ashlar coping. The piers feature V-jointed surfaces with a plinth and a frieze adorned with triglyphs, topped with pyramid coping. The entrance gate piers have cornices. There is a small gap in the wall, serving as a pedestrian entrance, immediately to the north of the entrance gate piers, and a larger gap to the south that leads to a later house.
