Description
The well head, located at SW 7848 3495, is a structure rebuilt in the early 20th century, likely on the site of the Holy Well of St Gluvias. It is constructed from killas and granite rubble and features two granite monoliths: a jamb on the left and a lintel with a dressed granite jamb on the right, which frame the entrance. The well head includes a small lintelled chamber with a spring leading to a sump, which is connected to serpentine-shaped retaining walls that flank the approach.
