Description

The George monument is a headstone located in the churchyard about 23 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Carantoc in Crantock. It dates from the 18th century and is made of slate. The headstone features a square head with an incised shouldered nowy head above the inscription panel, which includes cherubs with wings on either side. The lettering is well-executed and includes verses dedicated to Mary George, who passed away in 1743.
