Description
The Old Albion Inn is a row of three cottages that have been converted into a public house. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The building features a colourwashed exterior over granite rubble and cob, with a gabled thatched roof and brick stacks at the ridge and ends. The cottage on the left has a one-unit plan, while the other two have a two-unit plan. The structure is two storeys high and has a six-window range on the first floor. There are timber lintels above plank doors and horned 2/2-pane sash windows. A later 19th-century extension has been added to the rear of the left cottage, and a mid-20th-century extension is located at the centre. Inside, the building has ovolo-moulded and plain joists, an open fireplace on the right with a raised timber lintel and a cloam oven, and a stone fireplace on the left.
