Description

The George memorial is a chest tomb located about 5 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St Peter. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of ashlar stone. The tomb features a ridged and hipped top, a moulded cornice, and bold corner balusters. There are raised inscription panels, with the south side displaying the following inscription: "In memory of Daniel George formerly of Nowberry in this parish who departed the 16th of May 1831 Aged 70 years It is appointed unto men once to die and after that the judgement."
