Description

Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and 20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick and rendered infill, topped with a tile roof. The building is L-shaped, with the main range oriented north to south and a wing extending east from the northeast corner. There is an external brick stack on the north gable of the main range, and both ranges consist of two framed bays.

On the north front, the right gable of the main range has two storeys and an attic that is lit by a gable window. The first floor has two windows: a single-light casement and a three-light window to the right. The ground floor features a roughly central two-light casement under a segmental head, with an entrance to the left that has a lean-to tiled canopy supported by cast iron columns, leading to a six-panel door with the upper four panels glazed.

To the right of the main range, there is a projecting 19th-century lean-to against a subsidiary range, which is also two storeys high. The entrance to the granary is located on the first floor and is accessed by a flight of steps. The left corner of this range has a battered brick buttress from the 20th century. The framing of the building consists of three square panels high with straight angle braces, and the gable of the main range features three struts to the collar with V-struts in the apex.
