Description

The Chapel Garden walls, located approximately 60 metres south of Penwarne House, are kitchen garden walls dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. They are constructed from killas rubble with scantle slate copings on the east wall. The garden has a rectangular plan with buttressed walls. There are entrances in the middle of both the north and south walls. In the northwest corner, there is a lean-to greenhouse from the late 19th century. The doorways of the garden feature granite lintels, and the greenhouse has granite rubble walls up to the sill level. The glazing bars in the greenhouse may be 20th-century replacements of the original ones.
