Description

Sunny Corner Cottage is a cottage dating from around the middle of the 18th century. It is built of stone rubble, which has been painted and rendered, and has a slate roof with gable ends. A large stone rubble chimney stack stands on the left-hand gable, with a painted brick shaft. The cottage was originally a single room, with access on the right-hand side. It is built into the side of a steep hill and has two storeys and an attic. There are three steps leading up to the entrance. The front façade is asymmetrical, with two windows. On the ground floor is a 20th-century window with glazing bars on the left, and a partly glazed 20th-century door on the right. Above, there is a small rectangular window on the left, and a 19th-century two-light casement with glazing bars on the right. A dormer window in the roof, above the eaves, has a likely 20th-century two-light casement with glazing bars in the attic. The interior was not inspected. The cottage is included on the list for its group value.
