Description

The Pole Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 8 metres south of the tower of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features splayed sides and corner pilasters on a plinth, with paired inscription panels on the north and south sides. It commemorates John Pole, who died in 1838, along with other members of the family.
