Description
Bee boles, believed to date from the 15th century, are located in the boundary wall of the Church of St Mary. They are made of slatestone rubble and feature slate shelves. There are six boles arranged in a south-facing rubble wall that stands about 1.5 metres high. Each bole is approximately 40 centimetres wide, with rounded backs and shallow sloping roofs. The boles are separated by 20th-century brickwork.
