Description
The tombchest of Elizabeth and Harriet Wicke, located 25 meters to the west of the tower of the Church of St Merteriana, dates from 1804. It commemorates Elizabeth, the wife of James Wicke, who died in 1804, and their daughter Harriet, who died in 1795. The tombchest is made of slate stone rubble and features a rectangular slate lid. The lid is inscribed with upper and lower case lettering that includes serifs, a nowy-headed panel, and two angel heads.
