Description
The tombchest of John Hickes, located 1 metre south of the south aisle of the Church of St. James, dates from 1754. It commemorates John Hickes of Trewiggett, who died in 1754, and his daughter Elizabeth, who died in 1753. The tombchest is made of stone rubble and ashlar stone, topped with a slate lid. It features an incised panel with a nowy-head and large upper and lower case lettering.
