Description

The headstone of Mary, Daniel, and John Hick, along with the tombchest of Elizabeth Hick, is located 9 metres southeast of the southeast corner of the south aisle of the Church of St. Menefreda. This headstone and tombchest date from the late 18th century and 1791. The headstone commemorates Mary, Daniel, and John, who were the children of Thomas and Mary Hick, as well as Mary Hick, who passed away in 1806. It is made of slate and features a segmental arched top, with inscriptions in upper and lower case lettering that includes serifs. The adjoining tombchest is dedicated to Elizabeth, the wife of William Hick, who died in 1791, along with other family members. This chest is constructed from slate rubble and has a slate lid, also inscribed in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.
