Description

No. 6 The Parade is a mid-19th century town house that is now part of the Fountain Hotel. The building features a rendered ground floor and painted slate hanging on the first floor, topped with an asbestos slate roof that includes a hipped roof dormer with 20th-century windows. There is a lower hipped roof over a bay that extends over the carriageway on the left side. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window range. The late 19th-century windows are four-pane horned sashes set within moulded architraves. The ground floor includes a carriageway opening to the left, a 20th-century recessed bow window on the right, and a 20th-century door on the left, all beneath a moulded cornice. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
