Description

The Lanyon chest tomb, located approximately 5 metres north of the west end of the Church of Saint Morvah, is a chest tomb from the 18th century. It commemorates the wife of John Lanyon of Lanyon in the parish of Maddern, who was the daughter of Mathias Andrew and died in 1769 at the age of 61, as well as John Lanyon, who died in 1784 at the age of 92. The tomb is made of granite ashlar and features a moulded granite lid with an incised slate insert. It has a rectangular shape.
