Description

The Seven Stars Public House is a public house dating from the late 17th century. It features painted rubble walls and has two original ovolo-moulded oak lintels on the first floor of the main block. The building has a steep scantle slate roof with a brick stack on the left side, while the lower level on the right has an asbestos slate roof with a large rendered rubble stack to its left. The layout is double-depth and includes rear wings.

The structure has three storeys on the left side and two storeys on the right, with an overall four-window range. The three-storey section has a two-window range with late 19th-century four-pane horned sash windows on the upper floors. The ground floor features a central doorway with a hood supported by brackets, leading to a 20th-century partly-glazed door. This is flanked by late 19th-century canted bay windows, also with horned sashes and moulded, bracketed cornices.

On the right, the two-storey wing has early 19th-century hornless sashes with glazing bars on the first floor, a six-panel door on the left with a hood on consoles, and a tall late 19th-century four-pane horned sash on the right. The interior includes boxed-in beams on the ground floor and a 19th-century boarded ceiling, although it has not been fully inspected.
