Description
75 The Terrace is a small town house, likely originally part of the building to its left. It dates from the 17th century but was refronted in the early 19th century. The front is made of granite ashlar with keyed flat arches, except for a rendered timber lintel over the opening for the through-passage. The roof is covered with asbestos slate, and there is a rendered stack on the right side, along with cast-iron ogee gutters. The first floor features 20th-century sixteen-pane horned sash windows, while the ground floor has a central four-panel door, an opening on the left, and a 20th-century bay window copy with glazing bars on the right. The interior was inspected around 1980, revealing some surviving features such as remnants of a 17th-century oak roof with lap-dovetail collars, several 18th-century two-panel doors, and an early 19th-century chamber ceiling with a moulded and carved band, which has since been removed.
