Description

80 and 82 Lower Market Street are a pair of small town houses built in the early to mid 19th century. They feature a granite ashlar plinth, with the rest made of granite and other rubble, accented by granite dressings. The houses have an asbestos slate roof with slightly projecting eaves and rendered end stacks. The buildings have a double-depth plan and stand two storeys tall with a two-window range. The late 19th-century four-pane sash windows include horns on the left side at No. 82. Above the pair of doorways, there is a central round-headed niche, and both doorways are approached by a flight of three granite steps. The doors, which are from the 20th century, include a panelled and top-glazed door for No. 80, both featuring overlights. The interior has not been inspected.
