Description
Nos. 85, 87, and 89 on The Terrace in Penryn is a large town house that has been subdivided. It is likely from the late 18th century and is constructed of granite rubble, with some dressed granite used for the jambs. The building probably has timber lintels, which are obscured by cement mortar strings. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and features a modillion eaves cornice, with rendered end stacks and a lateral stack at the rear on the left side. The house has a shallow-depth plan and stands three storeys high, with a symmetrical five-window front. The windows are 20th-century horned sashes with glazing bars, including tall sashes on the first floor and square sashes on the second floor. The original central doorway has a triangular pediment and is adorned with a moulded architrave and consoles over guttae. The interior has not been inspected.
