Implement Shed At Approx. 30 Metres South West Of Carminowe Farmhouse

The implement shed, located approximately 30 meters southwest of Carminowe Farmhouse, dates from around 1860. It features walls made of shale rubble with dressed granite quoins and jambstones, incorporating some reused late medieval fragments from the former Carminowe manor complex. The roof is partly covered with grouted scantle slate and adjoins the stables on the left, with a gable end on the right.

The shed has a rectangular plan and is a single storey. The north front is nearly symmetrical, featuring a wide central doorway and slit ventilators to the left. The main doorway includes a chamfered softwood wall plate or lintel supported by jamb corbels. The arched slits are constructed from reused medieval fragments, as is a triangular ventilator in the west gable and the ridge finial above. Carminowe was an important manor from the 13th century and is part of a nearly complete planned group of farm buildings.
