Farmhouse with barn attached on left. Probably C17 origins remodelled and refronted in early C19. Stone rubble with large granite quoins and granite dressings. Rag slate roof: lower roof over farmhouse on right with gable ends. Higher roof over barn on left with hipped and half hipped ends. Stone rubble axial stack and end stack on right and brick shaft to service end stack to rear. Plan: Unusual plan, the original arrangement uncertain. The existing plan with a barn on left and farmhouse on right. The house has an entrance passage on left with principal room adjoining on right, originally heated by an end stack. The house was then extended further to the right in circa early C19 with a second room, probably a parlour, heated by an end stack. The house was further extended across the rear with a kitchen to rear of the passage and original room and a dairy to rear of the parlour. Adjoining on the left hand side is a barn with shippons on ground floor and loft above. There is no straight joint between the dwelling house and barn suggesting that the barn is contemporary with the front wall of the house. Part of the ground floor of the barn has been incorporated into the house forming a passage whilst a C20 stair has been inserted in the original passage. Exterior: Two storeys. Asymmetrical front elevation with taller barn on left. The granite lintels above the ground floor openings of the house and barn have been extended to form a continuous flat string band. House to right has a C19 door on left and two probably C19 2-light casements to right. First floor with three probably C19 2-light casements above ground floor openings. The symmetrical two storey elevation to the barn on left has three doors on ground floor with central loft door above. A C20 porch has been built infront of the right hand door of the barn and the left hand door of the house. Rear elevation of barn with external stone rubble steps up to loft with slate hipped hood above. Interior: The house has a C20 stair inserted in the original passage. The room directly to right of the passage has a large chamfered cross beam of considerable depth. The ceiling is plastered and the design of the joists is uncertain. Roof structure not accessible although feet of the principals and collar are chamfered. The barn has a pegged A-frame roof.
