4/38 Barn 15m to north east of East - Trenean Farmhouse

GV II

Bank barn with shippon on ground floor and threshing floor above, circa 1840s. Stone rubble, partly rendered on front elevation and repaired with concrete block on rear elevation with rag slate. roof with gable ends. Rectangular plan. 2 storeys symmetrical front elevation; ground floor with 2 shippon openings with replaced plank doors and granite lintels flanking central opening with double plank doors and granite lintel. First floor with wide opening for threshing floor with timber lintel. 2-window openings with dressed arches below eaves on right and left. Row of pigeon holes below eaves, partly blocked on right-hand side. Rear elevation with double plank door at first floor level. Interior with joists to first floor reinforced with bracing. Lime plastered walls on first floor and interesting braced queen post truss roof. Bank barn is situated in row of farmbuilding's to north of East Trenean Farmhouse (qv).
