Description
This is a barn located 20 metres north of Trehane Barton, dating from around the 18th century, though it may have earlier origins, as it incorporates several pieces of 17th-century dressed stone. The barn is constructed from stone rubble and features a cement washed slate roof with gable ends. It has a rectangular plan and is built into a bank, with the ground rising to the rear and to the left. The layout likely includes a shippon on the ground floor and a threshing floor with an opposing door above.
The exterior has a two-storey front elevation facing the rear of Trehane. It is asymmetrical, with a two-light mullion window on the left, a corrugated door, and a one-light granite framed window on the right. There is a blocked loft door above these features. To the left, there is a later addition from the early 20th century. The right gable end has a two-light window made from a single piece of Polyphant or green stone, with several rows of pigeon holes above. The interior is not accessible.
