7/54 Headstone of John Bastard 5m to south east of chancel of Church of of St Symphorian GV II Headstone 1807. In memory of John Bastard, son of James and Elizabeth Pearn of parish of Minster who died in 1807, aged 3. Slate headstone with triangular head. Inscribed in upper and lower case lettering with serifs. Verse:

Cut down as a flourishing flower He fades; as shadow he flies; His Beauty is gone in an hour He blooms for a moment - and Dies
