Description
The Miechel monument is a headstone located in the churchyard about 3 metres southeast of the south porch of the Church of St Sampson in Golant. It dates from the 18th century and is made of slate. The headstone features a nowy head with incised pilasters on the sides, which continue as an incised border around the nowy head. At the base, it bears the motto "Remember Death" in primitive Gothic lettering, similar to the style of the monuments to Rundall and Avery. The inscription reads "In Memory" and is dedicated to Mary Miechel, who passed away in 1770.
