Description

The Martyn monument is a headstone located in the churchyard about 3 metres southeast of the south porch of the Church of St Michael. This 18th-century monument is made of slate and features a shouldered rounded head. It has an incised border around the inscription panel, which includes two urns at the top and a central skull. The headstone commemorates James Martyn, who passed away in 1796.
