WERRINGTON SX 39 SW 5/289 Threshing barn on north-west of yard, 30 metres to north west of - Wilkey Down

GV II

Barn. Circa 1840s. Stone rubble. Rag slate roof with hipped ends to front right and left. Plan: Overall 'U' shaped plan; main range forming north west side of yard with shallow wings to right and left. Shippons on ground floor with threshing floor, hay loft and granary on first. Exterior: Two storeys. Symmetrical south east elevation facing rear elevation of farmhouse (qv Wilkey Down farmhouse). Central wide doors on ground floor with shippon doors to right and left flanked by window openings. Loft door centrally placed above with slate hood and symmetrically placed window opening to right and left. Shippon doors on ground floor and loft doors above to the shallow front wings. Dressed stone segmental arches to openings Interior: not inspected.
