GV II

Incline plane keeper's cottage, now private house. Circa early C19. Rendered stone rubble. Rag slate roof with hipped ends. Rendered end stack on light. Plan: Double depth plan with central entrance and two small service rooms to rear. Exterior: Two storeys. Almost symmetrical three window front. C20 glazed door in centre, the C19 porch removed. C19 2-light casement to left and C20 2-light casement to right. Two C19 2-light casements on first floor flanking centrally placed C19 1- light casement. Interior: C19 and C20 carpentry and joinery. The incline plane keeper's Cottage was associated with the incline plane to the east (qv) built as part of Bude Canal which was opened in 1823. Rendell, J. The Story of the Bude Canal, 1987.
