Description

These are a pair of mid-19th century houses situated in a row on St George’s Road, Truro. They are constructed of brick with granite dressings and freestone rustications, and have a dry Delabole slate roof with projecting eaves at the front, along with tall brick chimneys over the cross party walls. The houses are designed as a pair of mirror-image dwellings, each with a central entrance hall and a reception room at the front, with service rooms behind. They are two storeys high with a basement. The front elevation has a symmetrical appearance, featuring a four-window range. Stucco quoins and rustications define the window and door surrounds. The windows are tripartite, each opening spanned by a segmental arch, with brackets under the sills; they retain original hornless sashes. The interior has not been inspected. The shallow basement forecourts are enclosed by low retaining walls topped with iron railings featuring arrowhead finials.
