Description

Cliff Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from granite and killas rubble, featuring dressed granite quoins and lintels. The building has a steep slurried half-hipped scantle slate roof, with brick chimneys on the side walls and three hipped roof dormers at the front. The layout includes two ground floor rooms built into the cliff at the rear, with a lobby and stair between them. There is a later outshut on the left side of the house. The exterior is two storeys plus an attic, with a symmetrical three-window south front that includes a central doorway and a later outshut on the left. The front door is a 19th-century four-panel design with glazed top panels, and there are four-pane horned sash windows that date from the late 19th or 20th century. The interior has not been inspected. Cliff Cottage is an unspoiled house located in the picturesque Bessy's Cove of Prussia Cove.
